Vara Valley

Immerged in the green of Liguria's Hills and only some kilometers from the sea, the Vara Valley is the ideal compromise between sea and mountains... Leaving La Spezia on the Aurelia, you will discover "Riccò del Golfo" with a lot of villages on the hills which surround this landscape.

Your first stop should be at "Brugnato", monumental village and bishop's seat; from Brugnato you can reach "Rocchetta Vara" from where you can go to different directions:
- from one side you will arrive at "Veppo"
- from the other one at "Suvero", a village with a "Malaspina" castle, and lately an important summer destination in the zone of "Passo dei Casoni", Mulazzo and "Lunigiana Massese".
- taking another street which starts behind Rocchetta you can visit the green valley of "zignago", rich of simple and interesting villages.

From Brugnato, taking another street, you will arrive at "Sesta Godano", and from here at the antique "Varese Ligure" where the streets for "Emilia" branch off over the Pass of "Cento Croci", the Pass of "Bocco", whereas from "S. Pietro Vara", you will reach "Sestri Levante".

Following the "Aurelia" towards the Pass of Bracco we will find - after Borghetto Vara - Carrodano and Mattarana: an internal street allows to reach Carro where the rich vegetation and the wonderful green landscape, keep an invariable and not disturbed fascination.
